It is a great pleasure and an honor for us to send a warm invitation to attend the 4th US-Japan Geoenvironmental Engineering Workshop, which will take place in Kumamoto, Japan, on 17-18 November, 2023.
Following the successful workshop of this series held in New Orleans (March 2008), Kyoto (October 2011), and Chicago (August 2016), the Japanese Geotechnical Society (JGS) and the Geo-Institute (G-I), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) are delighted to announce that the 4th workshop will be hosted by Kumamoto University, Japan.
The US-Japan Geoenvironmental Engineering Workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for geoenvironmental engineering practitioners, researchers, and educators to exchange ideas for the challenges and the research/education priorities in geoenvironmental engineering for a sustainable future under collaborations between U.S. and Japan. The workshop also intends to provide participants with opportunities to visit technically interesting sites in and around Kumamoto.
On the days before the workshop, tbe 15th JGS symposium on Environmental Geotechnics will be held in Kumamoto on Novemeber 15-16, 2023. We also invite the participants to submit a paper and make an oral presatation in international sessions of the symposium.
We appreciate your participation and contributions to the workshop in advance.
